Caffeine Experiment
The goal of this caffeine experiment is to try to find out whether caffeine raise our heart rate or not. This experiment is done by the AP Stat students in period 4. The tudents sat in their seats and calmed down for a few minutes. Then, they were recorded their pulse within one minute. After that, the students randomly selected a cup of soda. This is a double-blind experiment which means the students and the teacher don't know which one has the regular pepsi and which one has the caffeine free pepsi. Then, the students had one minute and thirty seconds to drink the soda. After they finished drinking soda, they were recorded their numberwhich is on the bottom of the cup. Then, the students worked silently for ten minutes. Ten minutes later, the students were recorded their one minute pulse again. Then, they were calculated the change in their heart rate. Later, the teacher told the students which one had got the regular pepsi and which one had got the caffeine free pepsi accroding to their cup numbers.
